The Planning Commission of India had asked the Kerala State Planning Board to prepare a State Development Report (SDR) for Kerala. As suggested by the Planning Board and supported by the Planning Commission, the Centre officiated as the nodal agency and prepared the SDR in partnership with Centre for Management Development (CMD), Thiruvananthapuram and Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode. The SDR will be the official report of the Planning Commission and would be a public document intended for broad dissemination.
Issues such as growth performance, poverty, deprivation and social security, migration and development, agriculture and allied sectors, gender and development, social and economic infrastructure, education and health, tourism and decentralisation and governance are the topics discussed in the Report.
